waterlanding asked: I know your a pretty big Tweedy fan, so what are your thoughts on Wilco's 'The Whole Love'?
I really enjoy it! It’s amazing to listen to A.M. and The Whole Love back to back and realize how much Wilco has evolved/progressed. I think they’re experimenting creatively and effectively while preserving that undeniably Wilco sound. Let’s be honest, they have gained a reputation where they really can do whatever the hell they want. Watching that Letterman special featuring the new songs made me especially excited about the album.
Wilco has such a special dynamic (I’m sure I’ve mentioned this about Bazan’s band) in that each musician in the band is so unbelievably talented with their instrument. Sometimes I love just watching one musician at a time to truly appreciate their craft (Nels Cline especially).
It is such a treat to hear new music coming from these guys… I hope they continue to pave the way for quite some time.
Notable tracks: I Might, Dawned on Me, Black Moon, Whole Love,
